Have you read these quotes recently in the press? We find them interesting...

"There will always be problems as long as sensitive electronic units are installed at floor level - how long would your laptop last if you constantly kicked it around your living room?"

bluebox has no seat boxes. Period.

"No matter how robust the head end or how sound the software, there will always be problems in the cabin and at the seats as long as processors are housed in boxes on the floor"

Ditto.

"The fewer the parts, the fewer the opportunities for failure."

bluebox has only one part per seat - the bluebox unit. That's it. No wires, no server, no boxes.

bluebox is wireless, with no additional associated hardware components, allowing for optimum flexibility and delivering substantial positive impacts on fuel costs and carbon emissions. It fully integrates with cabin call bells and lighting, and as it uses consumer operating system technology it supports high-specification PC gaming, VoIP services (where a broadband connection is in place), deep and detailed usage statistics, and customized cabin services.

bluebox has no wires. bluebox has no seat boxes. bluebox has no server.

Even in the best case scenario, the traditional server-based model is flawed - multiple users dependent on a single device providing service is always going to pose a failure risk, no matter how good the server is.

Bluebox Avionics were the first to understand that autonomy is the key to reliability. Wireless, yes, but only for control. Content and processing is done at the seat - not under the seat in a bulky box, but in the UMPC unit mounted in the same space that is currently occupied by dumb monitors.

Reliability, flexibility, autonomy. No other system offers this level of operation.
